Orsay Museum

Established at the site of the old Orsay Palace (1840), this immence edifice, with its distinctive facade was originally located a train station.

Today, it comprises a museum dedicated to nineteenth century western paintings. Sculpture, architecture, decorative arts and photography have an equal place there.

Works from the Masters such as Manet’s « Olympia », Courbet’s « L’Origine du Monde », Degas.. are numbered among its collection. Pieces from the impressionist movement have a place of honour. But its offerings do not end there. There is a rich and varied programme of conferences, debates, theatre, cinema, shows for the youth as well as temporary exhibitions at The Orsay Museum.

Museum of Arts and Trades

In 1794, Abbot Henri Grégoire, founded the National Conservatory of Arts and Trade, a Mecca for higher education in the sciences and technology.

Today, the Museum invites you to discover works from these men and women. With its prestigious and extensive collection, it is the first scientific and technical museum of Europe with a collection of more than 80,000 pieces of which 40,000 are exhibited. Museum of Decorative Arts

Not far from the Tuileries garden, The Museum of Decorative Arts allows you to discover the French « Art de Vivre » from the Middle Ages to today.

Permanent and visiting exhibits showcase furniture, goldsmith’s and silversmith’s art, glassworks, engravings, sculptures and toys. More than a museum, it is a venue for educational activities where debates, training seminars and workshops are regularly scheduled.
